Dear friends, I would like to invite you to check the updated version of the afternoon session programme. Following the title of this conference “Astronomy: A Common Ground for Sharing Humanity's Concerns”, we aim to plan concrete steps to bring this possible role of astronomy to become reality. These kind of initiatives can only be carried out by a well-established net of collaboration. We put our trust in the already long tradition of the VOSS net and in establishing new collaborations with the non-VOSS participants. I would therefore like to encourage all VOSS Alumni/Faculty to try to join this initiative or propose participation to another close working colleague. We have reserved time for six contributed talks. These will take place at the third session on Thursday. If you wish to expose your own ideas/thoughts about any of the topics that will be discussed over the four afternoon sessions (each session is shortly described in http://kino.as.arizona.edu/~supervoss/SciProg.html), you are welcome to send me an abstract (mkaufman@mpifr-bonn.mpg.de). You can propose either a contributed talk or a poster. It will also be possible to share your thoughts and ideas at the round table discussions that will take place at the end of each session. Looking forward to meeting you in June! Marina Kaufman Bernado |
