Astronomy: A Common Ground for Sharing Humanity's Concerns

Welcome to the website of Super VOSS 09, an international symposium with the participation of alumni and faculty of the Vatican Observatory Summer Schools (VOSS).

In 1998 and 2002 the Vatican Observatory organized two International symposia with the participation of alumni and faculty of VOSS. Over the past two decades, the VOSS have helped to create a worldwide community of young scholars in Astronomy and Astrophysics. This new Super VOSS 09 will bring together alumni and faculty from all of the previous Summer School for the third time.

This symposium will take place during the International Year of Astronomy. The meeting will therefore combine presentations of scientific research results and discussions on the public outreach in Astronomy.
